How to read a birth chart
Download birth charts and astrology transits charts with signs, houses, aspects, and current planetary positions.
Create a free natal chart
Open Birth Chart and enter a name and date — that is enough to generate planets in signs. Add the exact time and place of birth (latitude and longitude) if you have both. Generate the chart in this browser. Nothing is sent to a chart server.
Houses and the Ascendant need time and place together — not one without the other. A date-only chart is allowed by design: you still get bodies in signs, but no house cusps. Time without a place (or place without a time) is the same: no houses. If the birth time is unknown, leave it blank and treat the chart as signs-only.
How charts are calculated
Positions, houses, and aspects are calculated in this browser. Nothing is sent to a chart server for those core features.
Birth dates, times, and coordinates stay in this browser for the wheel. City search is separate and only sends the place name you type.
- Dates are accepted from 1000 through 3000. Years outside that window are rejected.
- Main-planet positions are typically within about 1″ (arcseconds, 1/3600 of a degree) of Swiss Ephemeris in the well-measured years; the Moon is within a few arcseconds. Charts are drawn to the arcminute (arcminutes, 1/60 of a degree), so that gap does not change a reading. This is not Swiss Ephemeris, and it is not spacecraft-grade. More than enough for astrology.
- Chiron is only available from 1600 through 2484. Outside that span it is omitted from the chart.
- The wheel can show the Sun through Pluto, the Moon, Chiron, the lunar nodes, and mean Lilith, plus the Ascendant and Midheaven when time and place are set. Tropical or sidereal (Lahiri). Twelve house systems, including Placidus, Koch, and whole sign.
Read the wheel
The ring of signs is the zodiac. Bodies sit in a sign and, when time and place are both set, in a house. Lines between bodies are aspects. Open Properties for houses, bodies, and aspects as text. If time or place is missing, lean on sign positions — houses are omitted, not guessed.
Transits
On Transits the wheel uses two rings of bodies around the same zodiac. The inner ring is the natal (or reference) chart you entered — houses stay with that chart when time and place are set. The outer ring is the transiting sky: now, or the date you step in the browser. Lines in the middle are aspects from transits to natal. Use this to see what is crossing the natal placements now, or on another date.

Save events
If you allow saving on this device, you can save up to 10 events in this browser and load them on any page. That data stays here — it is not sent to our servers. You can change this later in Privacy settings. Charts still work this visit if you do not allow saving.
